Dr. Gordin's Page
Rich Gordin is a professor at Utah State University. He has been at the university for 28 years. He is a professor in the department of health, physical education and recreation and is an adjunct professor in the department of psychology. He was the department’s graduate coordinator for 15 years. Dr. Gordin has published 75 articles and book chapters and has made 300 professional presentations at state, regional, national and international conferences. He has been a sport psychology consultant for numerous athletic teams, including teams at his university, USA Gymnastics, USA Track & Field, US Ski and Snowboard Association and for several professionals on the PGA Tour including 2003 Masters Champion Mike Weir. He is the former chair of the certification committee of the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). He is listed on the sport psychology registry of the United States Olympic Committee for the 2008-2012 quadrennium. He is also listed as a member of the USA Gymnastics Athlete Wellness Program National Referral Network for 2008-2012. He was the sport psychologist for the USA Women’s Gymnastics Team in Seoul in 1988 and a sport psychology consultant for USA Track and Field team for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He will be the sport psychologist for the USA Combined Nordic Ski Team in Vancouver in 2010.
Dr. Gordin has also consulted in the business world for Bank of America, ING, The Hartford, Transamerica Retirement Services, Nationwide, and Pioneer Investments.
